The December 8 to 10 exhibit and sale of Sheila Hodgkinson paintings offers an opportunity to choose from the work of one of the North’s foremost interpreters of light and form.
A selection of more than 40 acrylic canvases share scenes and impressions at the climax of Sheila’s almost 40 years living and painting in the NWT. The exhibit and sale will be the last Yellowknife offering of works created during her final years in Yellowknife.
Her art is in corporate and private collections throughout the north and Canada. A collection of old town paintings is housed at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre with other works displayed in public buildings, including the NWT Legislative Assembly and Stanton Territorial Hospital.
Sheila moved to British Columbia to paint a few years ago and has recently returned to Canada from living in the south of France.
